A few years ago a group of Portuguese gentlemen in Cape Town enjoyed rounds of social golf together. Having Portuguese roots in common with a strong love for golf, these men decided to take their romance one step further by emulating a social golf group that was formed a few years earlier in Johannesburg.

Their first AGM was held at the Vasco da Gama Football Club in Parow and Redskins Social Golf Club Cape Town was borne in 1993.

The idea of being a member of the Redskins Golf was to get Portuguese golfers together in Cape Town on a monthly basis to play golf together at all the beautiful courses the Cape had to offer. For golfers who were not members at a club, the Redskins offered them an avenue for them to keep track of their handicaps and discounted green fees.

Redskins Golf Cape Town has a Constitution in place with a fully functional committee who meet monthly to discuss outings, finances and general issues. There are currently 42 active members who will all be vying for the 3 competitions the Redskins hold annually namely, The Order of Merit, Matchplay and Club Championship. The youngest member is 18 whilst our most mature golfer stands at 75!

Membership to the Redskins Golf Cape Town is open to all and we welcome any new applicants.
